4th of July

Sorry for the lack of posts, Pietro and I went home for the long holiday weekend both for the 4th and for his dad's birthday.

To recap last week: Wednesday night we went out with Pietro's friend Zack.  It was my first experience going to a bar in New York.  It was....loud.  We soon decided it wasn't the right atmosphere for talking and catching up so we moved down the street to a wine bar instead and had great conversation.  Afterwards we walked around midtown a little bit and Zack took us to see the UN because it was nearby:

And on our way home we saw Grand Central Station:

Moving on to the holiday weekend... We celebrated the 4th by catching a minor league (Potomac Nationals) baseball game with my mom and brother (actually on Sat, not really the 4th but close enough).  This was Pietro's first baseball game ever and I was afraid boredom would strike but I was wrong and he really enjoyed it. Afterward there were fireworks of course and it was romantic watching them with my boyfriend for once :)

On the actual 4th of July we spent the day traveling on a bus back to NYC. And then when we got there we went grocery shopping for the week.  Fun times...
