I'm SO OLD... and other things...

So Friday afternoon my friend Courtney and I watched an old movie I used to love as a kid called Bedknobs and Broomsticks.  In this movie Angela Lansbury looks about 50 years old. Towards the end we looked on wikipedia and realized that Angela Lansbury was only 27 years old in the movie. and she looked like this:

That scared me a little bit because that's only 4 years away... ack

Anyway since my birthday is today I celebrated on Friday and Saturday.  Friday I went out for a little bit with my friends.  I've made some really great friends in NY and I was happy that they were willing to celebrate with me.  They came over first and brought me cupcakes and flowers :)

Then we went to The Beauty Bar which is a cool 50s retro place that offers a combo: Manicure and a Martini for $10. It was the best 10 bucks I ever spent.

Then we went out for a couple drinks and it was a lot of fun mostly because I met all of my friends in different places but they all got along really well!

THEN it got even better because the next day Pietro planned a whole day of surprises as my birthday present.  First to Sarita's Mac and Cheese for lunch where they have tons of different kinds of mac and cheese (my favorite food).  It was so good I haven't stopped thinking about it all day and I'm thinking of breaking my diet to eat it again.

Then we went to see the Nutcracker Ballet and took a nice walk through central park after while drinking hot chocolate.  Later on we ate dinner at this tiny really romantic Italian restaurant which was hidden away.  The food was delicious and we ate a lot of it.

Then today (my actual birthday) I sat in my pjs all day and relaxed :)
It was pretty much a perfect weekend.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

We had a getting ready for Christmas day this weekend.  I dragged Pietro uptown to see gingerbread houses and the Rockefeller Center tree and the Macy's Displays.  There were thousands of tourists and there was some unpleasant crowding but nothing could dampen my spirit :)  Then we came home and I made mulled wine and we listened to Christmas songs while decorating my tree.  All in all a pretty perfect night, enjoy the pictures!

This one made me laugh, it was called Occupy North Pole

Christmas Is Here...

CHRISTMAS IS HEREEEE

Today Courtney (my college roommate who recently moved to Long Island) and I went Christmas shopping at Columbus Circle Holiday Market. It was a cute little outdoor market with vendors and food and crafts galore.  I bought something for my mom (yes that's right mom, if you're reading this get excited), and something for my friend. Then we met up with my friend Christina and strolled around looking at Christmas lights a little.  it was cool because I've never been to Columbus Circle before, and there was an Argo there so we went and Christina used her card to get us free drinks.  I miss the days when I could do that too... sigh.

Anyhoo here are some pics of our day :)
